Joe "Cool" Motocross
Hi Tom White,

My name is Ruth Chambers.  My Husband and I owned for 40 years a motorcycle dealership in Santa Rosa, Ca.  We sold Yamaha at first then latter Suzuki.  During our years as owners we became friends of the Schulz family.  Because of Charles Schulz's son interest in motorcross he purchased from us in 1969 a new 125 motorcross motorcycle from our dealership.  In 1975 Charles Schulz wrote the book  You're a good sport Charlie Brown which was latter made into a movie.  He also exposed millions of people through his comic strip to the sport of motorcross.  This June 28 at the Motorcycle museum in Ohio a new exhibit will show stars of motorcycles.  Last year we had Joe Snoopy on parade in Santa Rosa.  One of the Joe Snoopy we had done as Joe Motorcross.  This statue is over five feet tall and the different scenes from the book are around the base.  We have sent this statue to be on display at the Motorcycle Museum in Ohio.  Before the exhitit opens some of the display items will be auctioned.  We have donated this statue to the museum  to be auctioned to raise money for "Ride For Kids'.  I would love to see this statue which is a one of a kind never to be produced again to be in a place that exhibits motorcross.  Check out the web site
www.motorcyclemuseum.cmarket.com about the auction.  The helmet, chest protector and books was designed by Craig Schulz the son who was interested and stayed interested in motorcross all his life.  This statue has the approval of the Schulz family and will never be created again.  I spent about $12,000 to have this statue done and is truly a work of Art.  If you know of anyone who might appreciate this statue tell them about this web site or have them contact me.  I sold Dr. Ralph Hanahan motorcycles when I was in business.  He knows me well if you have any questions.  I still remember when your son was hurt and my prayers have been with him since the beginning.
